    • Moderately dilated left ventricle

    • Mild mitral regurgitation
    • Prominent right coronary artery with diastolic flow noted
    • Severely depressed left ventricular systolic function

In the parasternal long axis view, a dilated left ventricle can be observed.  In addition, often there is depressed left ventricular systolic function (in some cases severe).  The mitral valve is often regurgitatant to varying degrees resulting in secondary left atrial dilation all of which can be assessed from this view.
