• Scimitar Syndrome
    • Mildly dilated right atrium and right ventricle
  • Echocardiographic Assessment: Apical 4 Chamber
    • Assess for right atrial and right ventricular dilation
    • Assess for tricuspid regurgitation (color Doppler)
      • Assess for elevated right ventricular systolic pressures
        • RVp = 4 (TR jet peak velocity)2  + right atrial pressure

  • Transducer placed on apical PMI (4th or 5th intercostal space)
  • Midclavicular line at the apical PMI (point of maximal intensity)
  • Notch at 3 o'clock
