  • Scimitar Syndrome
    • Two anomalous right pulmonary veins (red structures) draining into intrahepatic portion of IVC
  • Echocardiographic Assessment: Subcostal Short Axis
    • Assess for anomalous venous drainge into IVC (2D +C)
    • Spectral Doppler of any abnormal structures entering IVC to assess Doppler waveform (venous pattern) and for evidence of stenosis (assess mean gradient by spectral Doppler)

  • Transducer on abdomen just below xyphoid process
  • Notch at 6 o'clock
  • Probe tilted towards patient's right shoulder
