Suprasternal

  • Demonstrate arch sidedness.
  • Demonstrate arch anatomy, looking for evidence of interruption or coarctation.
  • If seen, demonstrate origin of pulmonary arteries.
  • Interrogate for evidence of a PDA or aortopulmonary collaterals.
  • Interrogate descending thoracic aorta with color/spectral Doppler for evidence of obstruction and to assess for flow reversal in the presence of significant truncal regurgitation.
