- Moderate to severely depressed left ventricular systolic function with segmental hypokinesis of mid and posterior septum and posterior wall

- Parasternal short axis sweeping towards the left ventricular apex
- Prominent trabeculations are noted in the left ventricle with deep recesses
- Left Ventricular Noncompaction
- Parasternal short axis sweeping towards the left ventricular apex
- Prominent trabeculations are noted in the left ventricle with communication with the intertrabecular space demonstrated by color Doppler
- Echocardiographic Assessment: Parasternal short axis
- Assess for left ventricular trabeculations sweeping from base to apex.
- Assess left ventricular systolic and diastolic function.
- Measure the Noncompacted/compacted ratio in end-systole.
- Assess flow within trabeculations/recesses by color Doppler
- Transducer at left sternal border
- Notch pointed towards patient's left shoulder
- Probe angled inferiorly (tail up)
