- PHT 200-500 msec = Moderate aortic regurgitation
- PHT >500 msec = Mild aortic regurgitation
The apical 5 chamber view is a good view to profile flow across the aortic valve. It is an excellent view to assess for aortic stenosis or regurgitation.
- Transducer at cardiac apex
- Notch at 3-4 o'clock (slight clockwise rotation)
- 4th or 5th intercostal space
- Probe tilted anteriorly (tail down)
