  • Bicuspid aortic valve

  • Bicuspid Aortic Valve
    • Severely dilated ascending aorta

The parasternal long axis view is an excellent view for assessing the right and non coronary cusp excursion of the aortic valve.  In addition, it can be used to assess aortic regurgitation and turbulent flow across the aortic valve. It is also a good view to assess for ascending aortic dilation which is an associated finding found with a bicuspid aortic valve.
