Echocardiographic Assessment: Apical 5 Chamber
- Enlongated left ventricular outflow tract/gooseneck deformity
- Assess for subaortic stenosis
- Assess for aortic stenosis
- Assess straddling chords across the LVOT or chordal attachments to the interventricular septum
- Transducer at cardiac apex
- Notch at 3-4 o'clock (slight clockwise rotation)
- 4th or 5th intercostal space
- Probe tilted anteriorly (tail down)
