• Complete AV Canal
    • 2D Sweep between the common AV valve en face and elongated LVOT (gooseneck deformity) which appears of good caliber

Echocardiographic Assessment: Subcostal Long Axis (LVOT)

  • Enlongated left ventricular outflow tract/gooseneck deformity 
  • Assess for subaortic stenosis
  • Assess for aortic stenosis or regurgitation
  • Assess straddling chords across the LVOT or chordal attachments to the interventricular septum

  • Transducer on abdomen just below xyphoid process
  • Notch at 3 o'clock
  • Transducer tilted slightly anteriorly (tail down)
