Normal appearing coronary sinus connecting to right atrium
- Normal laminar flow at os (opening) of coronary sinus as it empties into right atrium
- Normal laminar flow across the tricuspid valve
- No tricuspid regurgitation
This view obtained from the apical four chamber (tilted posteriorly) is an optimal view to assess the coronary sinus as it drains into the right atrium.
- Transducer at cardiac apex
- Notch at 3 o'clock
- Probe tilted posteriorly (tail up)
- Partially unroofed coronary sinus (coronary sinus ASD)
- Dilated coronary sinus
