- Left sternal border
- 3rd or 4th intercostal space
- Notch pointing towards left shoulder (1-2 o'clock)
- Use machine zoom and narrow sector width profile aortic valve in center of screen
- Bicuspid aortic valve
- Anomalous coronary artery (left or right)
- Endocarditis (aortic valve vegetation)
- Ventricular septal defect
- Aortic regurgitation (defines mechanism and origin of regurgitation)
