• Normal appearing pulmonary valve with thin leaflets and good valve excursion
  • Normal appearing right ventricular outflow tract
  • Normal right ventricular systolic function
  • Normal laminar flow across the right ventricular outflow tract and pulmonary valve
  • Trivial pulmonary regurgitation

This apical 4 chamber view obtained tilted very anteriorly is a good view to assess the right ventricular outflow tract and pulmonary valve.

  • Transducer at cardiac apex
  • Notch at 3 o'clock
  • Probe tilted very anteriorly (tail down)
  • Sliding probe medially will optimize this view
